“Can you remember the moment you first glimpsed the face of the person who turned your life upside-down?”

Chaos sweeps through Peter’s quiet, orderly world from the minute he meets Marco – an outrageous, arrogant, divinely talented dancer less than half his age. Aided and abetted by a quirky cast of colourful characters, their lives become irrevocably entwined with each other’s.

Against all the odds, Peter and Marco manage to build their own idyllic world, their adventures taking them from a mountaintop village in North Africa, to flamenco taverns of Granada. Marco is prepared to use every trick in the book to manipulate his tyrannical parents and escape their domination.

Marco’s dancing career flourishes, and he looks destined for greatness, but bigotry and madness conspire to provoke a vicious crime that threatens to shatter their hard-won happiness.

Robin Hellaby’s debut novel is a gripping and intoxicating story, filled with heartbreak and mirth that excites from the first page to the last!

About the Author

Robin Hellaby was born in Lincolnshire in the 1950s and has since spent time in over 50 countries. The highlights of Robin’s worldwide career as a broadcaster, interpreter and translator included witnessing the Iranian revolution first-hand, ‘scooping’the death of Rudolf Hess in Spandau prison, and working on the documentation for Noel Coward’s estate.

Notable clients have ranged from business executives with their own jets (and banks) to refugees desperate for asylum.

Robin’s soulmate eventually appeared in a remote corner of Southeast Asia where the couple now lead a quiet life writing, painting, travelling at a slow pace, and growing pineapples.

Robin Hellaby is now working on a second novel that delves into the past of some characters portrayed in this book.
